I'm no expert on the subject, but I did read that you can validate true amber by rubbing it briskly against a piece of natural material such as wool, and it will develop static electricity to pick up small bits of paper. I tried that, and it seemed to work, so I'm satisfied that it is true amber as opposed to some man made substance.
