This ring is what we ended up with. The setting is modern and not overly fancy, and the gem has surprising clarity. Most importantly, we now have a symbol of our love that didn't compound my debt.

Cons:
-As is probably the case with most jewlery, the gem looks bigger in the pictures than it really is (not a huge deal though).
